Australian Channel Nine TV star Ben Dobbin has been hospitalised with a broken neck and spinal injuries after suffering a horrific bike accident. The Triple Nine star, 48, was training for the Noosa Triathlon when the accident occurred, reported the Courier Mail.

It has been reported that he may never walk again after the horror smash. Ben is reportedly recovering in Brisbane's Wesley Hospital and explained to the Courier Mail that he had been riding with cycling coach Cam Hughes when he swerved to miss a black snake in the road.

He underwent surgery this week, which was through his throat and had the potential to lead to Ben losing his voice.Thankfully, the surgery appears to have been successful and despite many people not walking again after this type of injury, Ben is on the road to recovery. The star even took his first steps following the surgery on Friday.Talking about the incident, he explained: "My front tyre clipped his back tyre and I lost control, shot across [the road], got spat out and went head first into the one and only steel pole," he said.

Ben is a dad of five and welcomed twin sons with his partner Amity Anderson last year. He has previously shared with listeners that he underwent life-saving heart surgery in 2022 after a potentially fatal blockage was found.
