TV star dies as tributes paid to actor who was 'full of life'

Tributes have been paid to Northern Exposure actress Diane Delano, who has died at the age of 67. A representative of the TV star confirmed to PEOPLE that Diane had died on Friday, 13 December after a ‘brief’ illness. “When Diane entered any room you knew she was there!

She was full of life and loved being an actor. She will be missed,” a statement read. The American actress was best known for her role as Officer Barbara Semanski in 12 episodes of the 1990s show Northern Exposure.

As well as this, Diane was known for starring in the 2006 remake of The Wicker Man alongside Nicolas Cage in which she played Sister Beech.

Elsewhere, Diane secured a number of other film credits, including Miracle Mile, The Ladykillers and Jeepers Creepers 2. On the small screen, she was a familiar face to viewers thanks to various guest roles on iconic shows such as Desperate Housewives, The Middle and Wizards of Waverley Place.Throughout her four-decades long career, Diane also lent her voice to a number of animations including Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Rugrats and American Dad.
