The National Television Awards were flooded with a variety of reactions as Mrs Brown's Boys nabbed the best comedy award, leaving some nominees less than thrilled.The BBC sitcom, which started in 2011, was pitted against a lineup of Ghosts, Not Going Out, Brassic, and The Gentlemen.
It was the fourth time Mrs Brown's Boys won the NTA, having previously triumphed in 2013, 2014, and 2015. However, Ghosts star Kiell Smith-Bynoe couldn't mask his apparent dismay over their latest victory.
As Brendan O'Carroll, the brains behind Mrs Brown's Boys, and his troupe took to the stage to accept the trophy, Ghosts' Kiell was spotted looking notably disgruntled.
Just weeks earlier, the Taskmaster comedian had rallied his followers to vote for Ghosts, hoping to avoid a repeat loss to Mrs Brown's Boys.
