Kathie Lee Gifford, the former Today host, ended up in hospital with a fractured pelvis after an unfortunate fall. She was in the process of recovering from hip replacement surgery when she tripped while hurrying to answer the door for a friend. This led to her spending over a week in hospital undergoing physical therapy.

Kathie had been signing books in Nashville and had "moved 300 books" by herself, which left her body feeling "weakened". Despite this, she admitted that "it's my own fault". "It didn't take much, because I was weak in that spot.

And the next thing you know, I am back in the hospital with a fractured pelvis, the front and the back. That's more painful than anything I went through with the hip.The pelvis is unbelievably painful.

But anyway, here I am," she told People. The 70 year old star described the incident as a "humbling experience" and has plans to take things a bit slower.
