During a tour of the place, he was keen to find out more about the Countess of Dundonald, a friend of the former Prime Minister who was a regular visitor to the castle.
Filming centred on Ty Crwn, the estate’s former sea bathing house that burned down in 2007. It has since been restored as a holiday let.Dan was also shown the Countess’ Writing Room in the castle gardens.Hosting the visit was fellow historian Dr Mark Baker, chairman of the Gwrych Castle.
