TV bosses 'told Lauren Goodger to have abortion' at height of TOWIE star's career
dailyrecord.co.ukFormer TOWIE star Lauren Goodger has claimed she was told to have an abortion by TV industry advisers, who said that having a baby would 'ruin her career'.
Appearing on podcast 'We Need To Talk' with Paul Carrick Brunson, Lauren revealed she'd become pregnant during her hectic relationship with jailbird Jake McLean, reports the Mirror.Lauren and Mclean dated for around four years after she met him through social media in 2012.
It was at the peak of her career, the now 37-year-old discovered she was pregnant.She explains: “I was advised by management that it would ruin my career ,which is so wrong because I was at the very height of my career, and actually as years went on the girls in [ The Only Way Is Essex ] bought shows out because they had kids – that could have been me.”Lauren added that at the time she was told that she was in line for several lucrative contracts, but if she kept the baby, she stood to lose them.
At the time, Lauren went ahead with the abortion but now says having a baby is a positive asset. “You can do baby brands, but I haven't done any of it,” she said.
