Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is the 45th and current president of the United States. Before entering politics, he was a businessman and television personality. Trump was born and raised in the New York City borough of Queens, and received a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School. He took charge of his family's real-estate business in 1971, renamed it The Trump Organization, and expanded its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan.
The company built or renovated skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. Trump later started various side ventures, mostly by licensing his name. He owned the Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty pageants from 1996 to 2015, and produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television show, from 2003 to 2015. Forbes estimates his net worth to be $3.1 billion.
Trump Organization CFO Pleads Guilty to Tax Fraud & Evasion
justjared.comAllen Weisselberg is pleading guilty. The longtime chief financial officer for the Trump Organization entered the guilty plea to 15 charges related to tax fraud and evasion on Thursday (August 18), via Deadline.
The plea requires that he testify against the Trump Organization at an upcoming trial. He now faces a five month jail sentence on Rikers Island and five years probation, and a fee of nearly $2 million in taxes, penalty and interest. Click inside to read more… New York prosecutors charged him and the Trump Organization in an alleged scheme to evade taxes on more than $1.7 million in income last year, and he originally pled not guilty to the charges.
The 15 felony counts include a scheme to defraud, conspiracy, grand larceny and falsifying business records. “This plea agreement directly implicates the Trump Organization in a wide range of criminal activity and requires Weisselberg to provide invaluable testimony in the upcoming trial against the corporation,” New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg said.
