Troy Deeney doesn't believe Edinson Cavani meant to offend with a post that appeared on his Instagram account. But says the Manchester United forward should be hit with a three-match ban, and receive an education on the subject to realise why the words were hurtful.
Cavani is facing an FA probe and potential ban after he was accused of using a racial slur on social media, following United's comeback win over Southampton.
The Instagram post reads: "Gracias n******" in an exchange with a fan. The Football Association confirmed to Mirror Sport it is aware of the post and will ask Cavani to explain the remark.
