The country has been gearing up to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee which kicks off with Trooping the Colour today. The ceremony is one that dates back to the 17th century and in modern times has been a moment to glimpse the Royal Family on Buckingham Palace’s balcony.
However, this year there has been a shake up to tradition and The Queen is set to take to the balcony with a smaller group of guests , including her three heirs.
Over the years the ceremony has provided many memorable moments. In 2016, the Queen publicly scolded her grandson Prince William on the balcony.
That year, Princess Charlotte was making her Trooping the Colour debut and was held by her mum Kate Middleton - leaving William in charge of looking after Prince George.
