Trippie Redd is already back in album mode, and this time he’s looking to other genres for inspiration. The Ohio rapper recently revealed on Instagram that he’s planning for his next album to be a pivot away from hip-hop into rock music.

Redditors captured a few of his comments on Instagram: This isn’t the first time he’s teased a rock project. Back in 2019, he shared plans for a non-hip-hop release, although he ended up putting out a pair of rap albums last year with ! (Exclamation Mark) and A Love Letter to You 4.

Trippie’s rock inspiration runs deep. He sampled ‘70s rocker Eddie Money on “How You Feel,” a cut off his debut album, Life’s A Trip.
