Triple road crash tragedies prompt fresh call for safety improvements on Ayrshire roads

A call to improve the safety of Ayrshire's roads has been issued - after three men lost their lives last week in the space of 72 hours.Two of the three tragedies took place on the A76 - just hours apart - with the third incident claiming the life of a man on the A713 Ayr to Castle Douglas road.Now South Scotland Conservative List MSP, Sharon Dowey, is demanding action.She said: “These roads must be fixed before any more lives are lost.

The number of tragic accidents happening on these roads is absolutely horrendous. Driving on these roads is a serious safety risk and that must change urgently.”The first tragedy unfolded around 6.55pm on Monday, May 20, when a 34 year-old motorcyclist died at the scene of the single vehicle crash on the A76 between Kilmarnock and Mauchline.
