Sinead shot to fame in 1990 with her haunting cover of Prince's Nothing Compares 2 U, which became the world's number one selling single at the first ever Billboard Music Awards that same year.
Naturally, as news of her death broke, many devastated fans and celebrities rushed to social media to pay tribute to the music legend, who was known to have had her share of mental struggles throughout her life.
