Tributes paid to ‘lovely young man’ after body pulled from Scots quarry following tragic accident

Scots quarry. The 22-year-old, who has been named locally as James Mighton, was pronounced dead at the scene after being pulled from the water at Parkley Fishery near Linlithgow, West Lothian.

Emergency services were called to the popular beauty spot after the alarm was raised at around 2.20am on Wednesday, June 1. Police are not treating his tragic death as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.His devastated pals have rallied around James’ family and have launched a fundraising page to help cover his funeral costs.

A statement on GoFundMe page read: “We want to give James the memorial he deserves, to honour his memory and the send off he deserves. “I am asking for donations to help James’s family.
