The Vicar Of Dibley actor Trevor Peacock has died at the age of 89, after winning over the nation as Dibley Parish council member Jim Trott on the comedy series.
Peacock died on Monday morning, his family confirmed, after suffering from an illness linked to his dementia. The veteran actor had been diagnosed with the degenerative disease in 2009, and in 2017 it was reported he had been moved to a nursing home.
A statement on behalf of his family, shared with PA, read: "Trevor Peacock, actor, writer and song-writer, died aged 89 on the morning of March 8th from a dementia-related illness."Peacock's final acting role was in a 2015 Comic Relief special, reuniting with his Vicar Of Dibley co-stars for a one-off comedy feature.
