Lucy Harrison was visiting her dad's home in Prosper, Texas, when she was shot in chest from "medium range" on January 10, the ECHO reports.
The 23-year-old from Warrington died later that day. An inquest was opened into her death at Warrington Coroners Court on Wednesday (February 12).
A written report following the inquest opening said: "Ms Harrison was on holiday in the USA when she has been fatally shot with a firearm." Following yesterday's hearing, Lucy's mum and boyfriend paid tribute to her.
