Tragedy as man found dead near Chorlton beauty spot

A man was sadly found dead after police were called to reports of concerns for his welfare near to a brook in south Manchester.

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed the tragedy is not being treated as suspicious. It's understood the man's body was found near to the end of Chorlton Brook, near the Turn Moss area.

The brook flows into the River Mersey there, through Chorlton Nature Reserve. No name or age has been provided by GMP. The force said officers were called at 7.45am on Sunday morning to reports of concerns for the welfare of a man seen near to the end of Chorlton Brook.

He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. No further details have been provided. An inquest is expected to be opened and adjourned at a later date.
