Trafford coronavirus infection rate goes UP to amber alert on day restrictions are relaxed - the latest rates for Greater Manchester

Trafford has gone back up sharply in the last couple of days. The weekly case total is now over 25 per 100,000 people, which takes the borough above the threshold to be placed on amber alert on the government watchlist for local intervention.The data published this afternoon gives infection rates up to Tuesday August 25 as there is a 3-4 day delay for cases to be fully reported.

In the week ending August 25 there were 60 positive coronavirus tests in Trafford, which is 13 more than the previous week - an increase of 28 per cent.

This takes the weekly infection rate per 100,000 people to 25.3 and provisional data shows that this will rise a few points higher tomorrow to more than 28.A total of 32 extra cases have been announced in Trafford.
