Tim Allen is opening up about the new Toy Story sequel Bob Iger confirmed earlier this year. Allen, who has voiced Buzz Lightyear in the past four animated featured films said that the studio has reached out to him and co-star Tom Hanks, who voices Woody, to return. “Bob Iger, head of Disney, said it was on,” Allen said while making an appearance on The Tonight Show Tuesday night. “He actually said it was going to happen.

They have reached out to Tom and I to reprise the roles. They’re not saying anything about it.” However, Allen questions about returning to the animated franchise. “For people like me, it’s just like — I’m a sci-fi buff.

You wonder if four was too many, is five too much? According to the scuttlebutts, the writer that’s doing it wrote one of the better ones and he said, ‘If I didn’t get this right, I wouldn’t do it.’ So it could be a very, very interesting way to reunite it,” he added.

Watch Allen’s complete interview in the video posted below. Allen has voiced Buzz Lightyear since the first film’s release in 1995.
