ok.co.ukJames Argent has been feeling better than ever over the last few years after undergoing a gastric band procedure in 2021, losing nearly 14 stone.The TOWIE star, 36, has now opened up on how bad his health battle really got, admitting that doctors told him he was 'on death row' following the Covid-19 lockdown, which saw him rise to 27 stone. "I remember the doctors saying to 'you're on death row' and things like that, it was bad.
I couldn't tie my shoelaces, I have bad asthma and was finding it hard to breathe," recalled James as he appeared on an episode of MailOnline's Straight To The Comments podcast.
Continuing that he has always struggled with food and eating, James admitted that lockdown intensified this and led to uncontrollable weight gain.
He explained: "I think I was just acting out on feelings and emotions, eating and eating and then lockdown, Covid, that didn't help." James now weighs 13.5 stone, and is even working to put some more weight on by working out in the gym and eating more protein, to avoid looking 'too skinny'.
