Frank Lampard took a moment before Chelsea's win at Newcastle to console Stephen Clemence following his father's death. The Blues headed up to the north east for a lunchtime kick-off where the 42-year-old found time to sound out the Magpies coach.
Clemence is part of Steve Bruce's backroom staff and embraced Lampard before the game. His father, Ray, died at the age of 72 last week leaving behind wife Veronica, daughters Julie and Sarah as well as Stephen.
Clemence appeared to say the words "thanks Frank" as the pair went their separate ways. His family released a statement following Ray's death that read: "After fighting so hard, for such a long time, he’s now at peace and in no more pain.
