Tony Bennett has been battling Alzheimer’s Disease for the past four years. The 94-year-old singer announced he’d been privately living with the disease in a new AARP Magazine article, published Monday.
Bennett’s wife, Susan Benedetto, said of why they’ve spoken out now during an interview with Gayle King on “CBS This Morning”: “He always likes to say he is in the business of making people feel good so he never wanted the audience to know if he had a problem, but obviously as long as things have progressed it becomes more and more obvious when you interact with Tony that there is something up and so it just seemed like now was the right time.” She added when asked if he’s in pain, “No he is not in any pain and that is why he doesn’t think
