The 2020 Tony Awards are finally being held, even though we’re already well into 2021! Tonight’s 74th Tony Awards show is technically still the “2020″ show because it’s the event that was supposed to be held back in June 2020.
The awards ceremony will honor the best of Broadway’s 2019-20 season. Nominations were announced back in October 2020 and the voting happened back in March 2021, so the winners were selected over six months ago.
The ceremony is being held TONIGHT (September 26) to celebrate the return of Broadway and the show is being held in two parts.
The awards ceremony, hosted by Audra McDonald, will air live exclusively on Paramount+, starting at 7 p.m.
