Tommy Robinson has reportedly been detained under counter-terrorism laws, some of his supporters have claimed. The moment he was allegedly detained was shared on social media. The footage of the figure, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley Lennon, was posted on his verified social media account, and came after he led a march in central London.Saturday's demonstration attracted thousands of supporters.

The Met Police confirmed an investigation was underway after a film was shown to the crowd and a complaint was made that it breached a High Court order. The Mirror reports Robinson also posted a one hour 45 minute-long film on X/Twitter, where he claimed to have previously avoided publishing the clip as he was "scared".

It is not clear whether the arrest is related to the film that focuses on the case of Jamal Hijazi, a schoolboy who was assaulted at Almondbury Community School in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, in October 2018.Robinson was later ordered to pay £100,000 to the Syrian boy after he was sued for making defamatory comments about him.

Jamal said Robinson's comments led to him facing "death threats and extremist agitation".Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team. All you have to do is click here if you're on mobile, select 'Join Community' and you're in!If you're on a desktop, simply scan the QR code above with your phone and click 'Join Community'.We also treat our community members to special offers, promotions, and adverts from us and our partners.
