Tom Hanks‘ young co-star in News of The World is opening up about working with the iconic actor in the new movie, and how he helped her with her role for the flick. Helena Zengel stars as Johanna in the big screen adaption of Paul Greengrass‘s novel of the same name.
In a recent press interview, Helena revealed that to help her stay in her emotions and in character, Tom would continue to cry off screen in certain scenes. “He was literally crying in every scene, even when it wasn’t shot on him — it was my close-up,” she shared. “He cried in every scene that I should get emotional…” Helena added, “Doing it again and again for your partner when you don’t even see yourself in the movie was really amazing and great.” Here’s the official summary
