Former Rangers star Todd Cantwell has insisted he never refused to pull on a Rangers jersey after former boss Philippe Clement made clear it wasn't his call to not include the wantaway star in the B team.The Englishman joined Blackburn Rovers on deadline day and admitted he wanted out but is adamant he never said no to appearing in light blue despite making it abundantly clear his time was up.
And now Cantwell – in an illuminating address – insists staying at Rangers wasn't in his best interests as he hinted the style of play under the Belgian wasn't suited to his best assets.Speaking to Sky Sports.
Cantwell said: "There was change around the club and obviously with the manager going the backroom staff went with him. It felt like a different place.
When a new manager comes in he has to put his stamp on things and I think we had a bounce where we got in a really good position to go on and do well.
