A former child actor who had a role in Titanic has revealed his earnings from the film, decades after its release. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are well-known for their roles in the romantic drama based on tragic real-life events.
However, one of their lesser-known stars is Reece Thompson, who was just five years old when he played an extra in one scene of the blockbuster.The one-time actor portrayed an unnamed Irish boy who was comforted by his mother as they waited to board a lifeboat.
His working-class family was told they could not escape the sinking ship until all first-class passengers had boarded. His mother was later seen tucking him into bed before the ship completely filled with water, drowning the remaining occupants.
Speaking to Business Insider, Reece disclosed that a talent agent had given his mother the choice between him appearing in an advert or a film when he was young.
