Seven puppies who were 'left for dead' after being ditched in a plastic box have celebrated their first birthday after being rescued by an animal centre in Glasgow.
In 2023, the helpless group of sausage Labrador cross siblings were abandoned in the Bathgate area of West Lothian.Thankfully, they were soon found by a passerby who rushed them to a vet before being released into the care of the Scottish SPCA Glasgow animal rescue and rehoming centre, reports Glasgow Live. The tiny pups needed round-the-clock care, including milk every two hours through the night.
One year later, they've been nursed back to health and are thriving. The siblings - Whirlwind, Mylo, Mavis, Orla, Bueller, Matty and Sully - were reunited on Monday, September 9, to celebrate their first birthday together.Lesley Morgan, one of the animal care assistants looking after the pups said: "It’s fantastic to see all the puppies playing with each other.
Celebrating their first birthday is something we at the centre couldn’t have dreamed of when they first came to us."I have such a strong bond with the pups as myself and two other colleagues hand reared them - I am just so happy that not only did they survive but started to thrive!"The first two weeks of life involved round the clock feeding as that’s what they would have done if their mother had been with them.
