Tina Turner spoke about putting herself in “great danger” in one of her final social media posts before her death. It was announced yesterday, Wednesday 24 May, that Proud Mary singer Tina had passed away at her home in Zurich, Switzerland after a “long illness”.
While more details about the cause of her passing are yet to be shared, in the weeks running up to the late 83 year old’s death, Tina had shared a poignant post on Instagram where she urged her followers to “show your kidneys love”. “Today is International World Kidney Day.
Why is it important? Because kidneys fail without pain. And that's why I'm telling you today: Show your kidneys love! They deserve it,” she penned back in March. “My kidneys are victims of my not realising that my high blood pressure should have been treated with conventional medicine.
I have put myself in great danger by refusing to face the reality that I need daily, lifelong therapy with medication. For far too long I believed that my body was an untouchable and indestructible bastion.” Tina shared the post in support of the Show Your Kidneys Love campaign.
