Timothee Chalamet to Star in Josh Safdie & A24's New Movie About Pro Ping Pong Player Marty Reisman

Timothee Chalamet has lined up his next movie role! On Monday (July 15), it was announced that the 28-year-old Dune and Wonka actor will be starring in Josh Safdie and A24′s new movie Marty Supreme, a fictionalized story inspired by the life of professional ping pong player Marty Reisman, according to Variety. Keep reading to find out more…Marty Supreme is written by Josh and Ronald Bronstein, who will produce the movie alongside Eli Bush and Anthony Katagas.

The movie reunites Josh with producer A24, which distributed his last two movies, 2019′s Uncut Gems and 2017′s Good Time.

A24 confirmed the news on X, writing, “Josh Safdie’s MARTY SUPREME starring @RealChalamet. Coming soon.” Marty Reisman, known as the “Wizard of Table Tennis,” was a table tennis champion, who started his career in Manhattan as a hustler, playing for bets and prize money.

He won 22 major ping pong titles from 1946 to 2007 and won five bronze medals at the World Table Tennis Championships. At 67, Marty competed in the United States National Hardbat Championship and became the oldest player to win an open national competition in a ract sport.
