On Sunday, the Oscar nominee made a surprise appearance at New York City’s Madison Square Park, where hundreds of fans gathered to compete in a Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest.
In videos shared to social media, several doppelgängers posed for photos in the sea of people before the Dune star joined them, resulting in some genuinely shocked faces.
A frenzy broke out as he hugged his admirers and posed with them. Incidentally, Chalamet didn’t win the contest, arriving with a mustache and a shorter head of hair — after portraying Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown.
