Tiger Woods is calling out his now ex-girlfriend, Erica Herman. If you didn’t know, the 38-year-old former restaurant manager invoked the Speak Out Act amid a battle a non-disclosure agreement, which is used to protects victims of sexual harassment and assault.
According to a filing, Tiger‘s lawyers are hitting back at the “utterly meritless” attempt to nullify the NDA signed at the start of their romance. Keep reading to find out more… In her lawsuit earlier in the month, Erica asked the court for clarification regarding “various legal claims she believes she has” about her split from the golf star. (They got together in 2017, and have since broken up.) “Because of the aggressive use of the Woods NDA against her by the Defendant and the trust under his control, the Plaintiff is unsure whether she may disclose, among other things, facts giving rise to various legal claims she believes she has,” the legal documents read, via Us Weekly. Erica cited the Speak Out Act as the reason that the NDA should be overturned, but included no allegations.
In his paperwork in response, Tiger said through legal counsel that Erica “is a jilted ex-girlfriend who wants to publicly litigate specious claims in court, rather than honor her commitment to arbitrate disputes in a confidential arbitration proceeding.” He further alleges her argument is “a transparent abuse of the judicial process that undermines the purpose of the federal statute and those whom the statute seeks to protect.” She previously sued Tiger and his Jupiter Island Irrevocable Homestead Trust in October for allegedly kicking her out of their shared home in Florida, claiming he used “trickery” and other “prohibited practices” to get her to leave the mansion.
