Carole Baskin
Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

Tiger King's Jeff Lowe claimed the TV bosses lied to all stars about show's real purpose. The zoo operator explained all the stars had been tricked into working on the colourful docuseries Tiger King released on Netflix.

It had been sold to Jeff and his wife Lauren Dropla, 28, as an expose on their arch nemesis and Big Cat Rescue's Carole Baskin.

On the flip side, the businessman said Carole had been stitched up because TV bosses spun a tale it was a warning against the dangers of keeping tigers.

He said: " Netflix did not approach us. We were produced by the guys who made the show. They framed it as an expose on Carole Baskins. "And to Carole, they said it was warning against the dangers of keeping tigers.
