Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

Tiger King star Carole Baskin raked in £16,000 in a single day using an app where users pay celebrities to send them video messages.

The Netflix series examined the fierce rivalry between Baskin and zookeeper Joe Exotic and led to her amassing a huge legion of fans.

Carole has now set up a profile on the Cameo app which gives fans paid-for personalised messages. On her account, fans can request a video from Carole for £140 for a 30 second message.

And it has now been revealed, she has raked in a whooping £16k on her very first day using the app, according to The Sun. In her introductory video, Carole says: "Hey all you cool cats and kittens.
