Joe Exotic
Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage (born March 5, 1963), better known by his stage name Joe Exotic, is an American former zoo operator, internet personality, musician, and convicted felon. The former owner and operator of the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park (a.k.a. G. W. Zoo) in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Maldonado-Passage had claimed to be the most prolific breeder of tigers in the United States. He twice unsuccessfully ran for public office, first for President of the United States in 2016 as an independent, and then for Governor of Oklahoma in 2018 as a Libertarian.
Carole Baskin
Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

etonline.com's Joe Exotic's sentence has been vacated — but he will remain behind bars as he awaits resentencing.A judge for Oklahoma's 10th District Court has ordered the eccentric zookeeper — real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage -- to remain in prison until he is re-sentenced following his 2019 conviction in the murder-for-hire plot of animal activist, Carole Baskin, ET confirms.
Maldonado-Passage was previously sentenced in 2020 to serve 22 years in prison for the plot against Baskin as well as other crimes, which included killing tigers to make room for more at this exotic animal park.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Oklahoma, Maldonado-Passage repeatedly tried to hire people -- one of whom was an undercover FBI.
