Three people were hurt by a lamppost that likely fell down due to a strong gust of wind at Disneyland this morning. One person was taken to an area hospital to be treated for serious injuries and two others were treated at the scene and released.
The light pole fell down just before 8:30 a.m. on Main Street in the Anaheim theme park, according to Santa Ana police Sgt. Jon McClintock.
The Orange County Register reported that the post was located in the flowerbed around the Disneyland flagpole right near the main entrance to the park It appears the heavy winds Monday morning brought the pole down, McClintock said.
In fact, at about the same time this morning, a gust of wind flipped a taxiing single-engine plane at John Wayne Airport. The pilot avoided injury.
