Three people have been arrested on suspicion of cloning number plates after being detained by Greater Manchester Police in Rochdale.
A Ford Mondeo was spotted by officers in the area and as they approached the car, the offenders sped off. They were pursued by the cops, who were joined in the chase by a Greater Manchester Police Tactical Dog Unit and Special Operations patrols.
The suspects' vehicle came to a crashing halt in some bushes and was then abandoned by the three occupants, who tried to flee on foot – but the trio were caught and detained by officers.
A statement on Greater Manchester Police Traffic's Twitter read: "This cloned Mondeo was sighted by our divisional colleagues in #Rochdale and made off.
