Three men appeared in court this morning in connection with violent disorder that broke out in Bolton yesterday. On Sunday, a demonstration organised under the banner of 'Enough is Enough' was held in the town.
Another protest was held by a rival group of counter demonstrators. Angry scenes were sparked outside the town hall in Victoria Square as both sides chanted towards each other.
Bricks and other missiles were launched at riot officers attempting to keep rival factions apart. Gareth Rigby, 43, of Masefield Drive in Bolton, was fined after he admitted a single charge of using threatening words or behaviour.
