Three Manchester United players have been named as the most costly in the Premier League this season. A study by BonusFinder has looked at how much money has been lost in wages for players who have not been able to play at certain periods of time due to injury.

This was calculated based upon total days the player was injured, total games the player has missed and total wages lost during that time.

United centre back Raphael Varane is fifth on the most costly Premier League players list. In total, the Frenchman was injured for 65 days, missing 14 matches - this led to an overall wages lost of £1,866,301.

Just behind him in seventh position is his compatriot Paul Pogba. Pogba has been missing through injury for a total of 51 days, missing 11 matches.
