Speak to any dermatologist or beauty expert and they’re likely to all agree on what are the best skincare ingredients for healthy skin, with vitamin C, vitamin A (retinol) and a high SPF at the top of the list.
Unfortunately, though, it’s tricky to find all these active ingredients in one product: retinol is usually best used at night as it can increase the skin sensitivity to sun, and “vitamin C and retinoids aren’t usually used together as this can cause irritation,” says consultant dermatologist Dr Shaaira Nasir.
However, those clever folks at No7 have found a way to combine both of these – plus SPF 30 – into a time-saving, UK-first moisturiser that effectively tackles fine lines without irritating the skin.
The latest addition to No7’s Pure Retinol range, Pure Retinol, Vitamin C & SPF 30 Day Cream Duo contains a gel-cream formula made with vitamin C and slow-release 0.1% encapsulated retinol in one side of the pot.The other half houses a rich SPF 30 cream, designed to be massaged into skin once the first product has completely soaked in.This two-in-one tub usually costs £39.95 but shoppers can currently save £4 when buying it on the Boots website for a limited time only, taking the price down to £35.95.
