We love it when a beauty product gives back by donating its proceeds to charity – even more so when it’s the entire price tag’s worth.

Bobbi Brown’s Pretty Powerful campaign, which is now in its ninth year, does exactly that through sales of a limited-edition shade of Pot Rouge, £23.50 here. This is one of the brand’s most popular products, a multipurpose creamy colour formula that can be used on both the cheeks and lips, housed in a handy mirrored compact.

The limited-edition shade is a medium, true pink that gives skin a healthy flush. But the best bit is that all of the money generated from the blushers (minus VAT) goes to the charity Smart Works, and to date the campaign has raised more than £750,000 (and counting!).

For those who are unfamiliar with Smart Works’ work, the charity helps to get unemployed women into work by providing them with support during their job search, through a 1:1 coaching session and providing clothes for their all-important interviews – which are then hers to keep. The women are referred to the charity by all sorts of organisations, including homeless shelters, job centres and women’s refuges – and since 2013, more than 20,000 have secured jobs after working with Smart Works.
