The former Suits star had every intention on becoming a fully fledged Brit prior to the Megxit drama that saw her and Prince Harry part ways with their royal duties.
To qualify, the mum-of-one would have had to live in the UK for a minimum of three years before being eligible to apply for citizenship and earning herself a British passport.
At the time of her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018, Kensington Palace revealed Meghan would be applying for citizenship as soon as she met the requirements.
