A convicted domestic abuser has been jailed after harassing two women at the same time. Brian Ogden, 37, claimed it was his issues with alcohol that affected his behaviour, but a judge told him: “It is very much you.” Ogden, of Oldham, pleaded guilty to stalking involving fear of violence, criminal damage and putting a person in fear of violence.

Minshull Street Crown Court heard that he had repeatedly messaged the two women after being handed court orders not to contact them both.

Prosecutor Lisa Boocock said that Ogden and the first complainant had been in a long-term relationship, and shared children together.

However, when the relationship began to break down, the woman went to the family court and obtained a non-molestation order lasting five years. “This is a very long order for that court to issue,” Ms Boocock said.
