Just before 1.30am on Tuesday, July 13, police were called to reports of a vehicle on fire outside of a property on Greengate Street in Oldham.
A police investigation later established that the vehicle was owned by Council leader Arooj Shah and had been deliberately ignited. Read more: Man arrested as air guns and cannabis seized from property in Oldham The fire had also caused damage to a neighboring property.
No one was injured in the incident. A 21-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
