Thieves swipe £100k worth of whisky in 'horrific' middle-of-night raid at Scots distillery

More than £100,000-worth of whisky has reportedly been stolen from a Scots distillery after it was ransacked during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Owners of Glenfarclas at Ballindalloch revealed their horror after the visitor centre had been broken into at 2.45am. Images show cabinets smashed with a considerable quantity of booze missing.

The Grant family - who own and run the business - shared the news on Facebook in a desperate appeal to the public for information.

The post reads: "The pictures we never thought we would post. We are horrified to have to share that our Visitor Centre was broken into at approximately 2.45 this morning."The thieves clearly knew what they wanted as they smashed the cabinets and cleared out all the oldest and most valuable Family Casks and a bottle of 60-year-old, leaving destruction behind."The total value of the whisky stolen is over £100,000.
