The X Factor star Emma Chawney has announced her mother Audrey has sadly passed away at the age of 73. Emma, who is famed for her X Factor auditions in 2006 and 2007, took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news on 15 January alongside a snap of her mum. "RIP my beautiful amazing mum," she penned. "I'm just letting you all know my mum passed peacefully in her sleep at 4am this morning." Audrey was known for appearing on TV shows such as The Jeremy Kyle Show, Nightmare Neighbour and Lorraine Kelly's Big Fat Challenge, following daughter Emma's brief time on The X Factor.

Emma was inundated with well wishes from her followers after sharing the news of her mum's passing. One person wrote: "I am so sorry for your loss." A second said: "I am so sorry for your loss Emma.

Sending you all lots of love," and a third added: "Sorry to hear your sad news Emma. Love to all your family at this sad time xx." Sadly, tragedy struck again for Emma as her beloved pet dog passed away shortly after Audrey's death.

She told The Sun: "She was a lovely lady - loved her TV programmes, loved her animals and loved a good laugh. "Her favourite TV programmes were Emmerdale and Eastenders.
