Edward Regan Murphy (born April 3, 1961) is an American actor, comedian, and singer.

Murphy was a regular cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1980 to 1984. He has worked as a stand-up comedian and was ranked No. 10 on Comedy Central's list of the 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time.

In films, Murphy has received Golden Globe Award nominations for his performances in 48 Hrs., the Beverly Hills Cop series, Trading Places, The Nutty Professor, and Dolemite Is My Name. In 2007, he won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of soul singer James "Thunder" Early in Dreamgirls.

Glasgow contestant Florence joined Michael Mcintyre's new game show The Wheel on Saturday night, as a fresh batch of celebrity guests joined the BBC programme to help members of the public bag a fortune of life-changing money.Radio presenter Anita Rani, actor Babatunde Aleshe, reality star Ekin-Su, This Morning's Gyles Brandreth, comedian Josh Widdicombe, television presenter Nick Knowles and TV personality Stacey Dooley were all on hand to help with topic expertise.The topics of the night were: Strictly Come Dancing, Beauty, DIY, Women, King Charles, Eddie Murphy as 28-year-old nurse Florence was the second picked to enter the show as she gushed over the opportunity to be there.

Discussing what she would do with the prize money, she said: "A few things. My grandparents are from the Caribbean but there's four kids in the family and it's always been very expensive so we have never gone, so I would love to take my siblings and treat the family." "I would love to give a chunk of money to my mum because she kept a roof over our heads and clothes on our backs - she's just amazing.

It would be great to get her back on the property ladder," she added. "If I had any money left I would fix the windows in my flat as it gets rather cold in the winter," she laughed, before DIY SOS presenter Nick Knowles chimed in that he has a good contact in Glasgow for a reliable company to fit her with new windows.

Host Michael comically quipped: "Ah well if you don't win anything tonight you are sorted then with Nick's contact in Glasgow for your double glazing windows," as they all laughed.
