The Weeknd certainly had a productive night as the Billboard Music Awards were announced in Los Angeles on Sunday night. The singer, 31, claimed the biggest prize of the night as he was named top artist - and also won nine other awards.
The ceremony, which celebrates chart success was held at the Microsoft Theatre, with Nick Jonas taking the reigns as host. R&B star The Weeknd's awards were presented to the Canadian thanks to his hugely acclaimed chart-topping album After Hours and single Blinding Lights.
As well as top artist, The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, picked up gongs for categories including top Hot 100 song, top Hot 100 artist and top male artist.
