The Weeknd, who’s a huge Canadian singer, recently performed during the Superbowl halftime this year, and you will be surprised to learn what he earnt in exchange of the stellar performance.

Not only is the 30-year-old entertainer not getting paid for this gig, but also actually invested USD 7 million into the performance.

According to a previous interview the singer gave to Billboard, he’s been focusing on dialing in on the fans at home and making performances a cinematic experience, and he wants to do that with the Super Bowl.

While this is not the first time this has happened, its still a shock. If you didn’t know, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, who performed at 2020 Superbowl halftime show, reportedly agreed to the same deal.
