The Weeknd Gives Surprise Performance at CinemaCon as New 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' Trailer Debuts Online

Movie theater owners were treated to a special performance from The Weeknd when he showed up as a surprise guest at 2025 CinemaCon!

The iconic singer performed his song “Blinding Lights” during the Lionsgate presentation at CinemaCon on Tuesday afternoon (April 1) at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The Weeknd stars in the upcoming movie Hurry Up Tomorrow, which is inspired by his music and concludes a trilogy that started with 2020′s After Hours.

In Hurry Up Tomorrow, a musician plagued by insomnia is pulled into an odyssey with a stranger who begins to unravel the very core of his existence.

The movie hits theaters May 16. The Weeknd‘s co-star Jenna Ortega and director Trey Edward Shults were on hand to introduce the performance.
