The Wanted‘s Max George has shared he had a pacemaker fitted, days after saying he’d need surgery for a heart condition.The musician posted a photo of his scar where the device has been fitted and told fans that he was taken to hospital to undergo emergency surgery.“Operation took around 2 and half hours,” the post said. “The main issue being some of my veins had collapsed where the wires were meant to go… But the surgeons and nurses at the NHS have been incredible.

At the time, he shared a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed while giving a thumbs up and explained that he had been admitted after “feeling really unwell” and having some tests done.The 36-year-old said he had “a 2:1 block” in his heart, which is where the heart beats slower or more irregularly than it should be.Previously, George said in a video to his Instagram stories that he was “hoping (for a) pacemaker”.
